A festival of soloists from the diverse DFW dance sphere, Emerging SOuLOS: Celestia provides its audience with an entertaining evening to stargaze and sample the many talented voices of our dance community.
In this inaugural edition of Emerging SOuLOS, DFW dance makers and performers from some of your favorite dance organizations (including Agora Artists, Avant Chamber Ballet, Bombshell Dance Project, Bruce Wood Dance Dallas, Grackle Dance Collective, Pegasus Contemporary Ballet, and more!) share original solo works inspired by celestial bodies. In collaboration with 4×4 Series, our local professional dance artists offer work that is celestial and unbound, while confined to the four-foot by four-foot mini stage.
For an even greater experience of the variety of dance talent in DFW, pre-professional dancers (from Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing Arts, Southern Methodist University, Texas Christian University, University of California San Diego, The Dallas Conservatory, and more) perform transitional works between each of the unique worlds created by our spectacular soloists.
Elevator Project
The Center supports small, emerging, and historically marginalized arts organizations and artists who entertain and challenge our community in meaningful ways. The Elevator Project has evolved into a curated season of bold, genre-spanning work — selected through a competitive process by a panel of arts professionals and advocates.
The Elevator Project is presented by the Eugene McDermott Foundation, and generously supported by the City of Dallas Office of Arts and Culture, The Theodore and Beulah Beasley Foundation, and the Texas Commission on the Arts.
