Majenin’ means ‘crazy people’ in Arabic. The Palestinian rom-com you’ve been waiting for: a tale of two fools who dare to love in a world obsessed with their sadness. Torn between New York, London and Palestine, the only place they truly feel at home is inside of their shared madness.

Writer/performer Marena Riyad joins award-winning director Justin Butcher (Scaramouche Jones) and producer Aisha Josiah (Dickless). Blending theatre and stand-up, an intimate, satirical, poetic occupation of the heart.

“Pure comedy gold… that rare combination of vulnerability and bite.” ★★★★ One4Review

Elevator Project

The Center supports small, emerging, and historically marginalized arts organizations and artists who entertain and challenge our community in meaningful ways. The Elevator Project has evolved into a curated season of bold, genre-spanning work — selected through a competitive process by a panel of arts professionals and advocates.

The Elevator Project is presented by the Eugene McDermott Foundation, and generously supported by the City of Dallas Office of Arts and Culture, The Theodore and Beulah Beasley Foundation, and the Texas Commission on the Arts.
