Open Stages

Introducing Students to Professional Live Performances

Open Stages expands opportunities for middle and high school students to experience professional live performances — a first for many. Through pre-show workshops taught by local teaching artists, students also explore themes within the show.

Backstage Spotlight

Hands-On Stage Production for High Schoolers

Backstage Spotlight offers high schoolers hands-on stage production experience. Ideal for students interested in pursuing a theatre career, they develop portfolios throughout the program to help them demonstrate their stage technician abilities to colleges and future employers.

Disney Musicals in Schools

Empowering 3rd-5th Grade Students Through Musical Theatre

Students at select schools collaborate with professional teaching artists to create 30-minute Disney KIDS musicals. Working collaboratively, participants develop a wide range of skills, including communication, critical thinking and self-confidence.

The North Texas Ballet Folklórico Contest

A Showcase Celebrating Mexican Folk Dance

Students from elementary to high school are invited to step — or spin — into this exciting competition. Celebrating the rich heritage of Mexico, professional dancers judge participants on technical prowess, athleticism and artistic interpretation.
