CHARLIE ROSE, ROBERT KENNEDY, JR., AND RORY KENNEDY COMING TO DALLAS

Center and ViewPoint Bank Presentation to Focus On Kennedy Family Legacy

(DALLAS) The AT&T Performing Arts Center and ViewPoint Bank will present an exclusive Charlie Rose Live event to honor the legacy of the Kennedy family. On January 11, 2013, veteran television journalist Charlie Rose will interview Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. and his sister, Rory Kennedy, two children of the late U.S. Senator Robert F. Kennedy, at the Margot and Bill Winspear Opera House. Robert Jr. is an author and environmental attorney. Rory is a filmmaker and recently premiered the HBO documentary Ethel, about her mother Ethel Kennedy.

Over the next year, many local events will be planned and increased media attention will revolve around the 50th anniversary of the assassination of President John F. Kennedy on November 22, 1963. The Center’s program, sponsored by ViewPoint Bank, will be among the first. The Center felt Mr. Rose’s legendary interviewing skills would make for a fascinating evening and set the right tone going forward.
“The Kennedy family has shaped our nation,” said Douglas T. Curtis, president and acting CEO of the nonprofit AT&T Performing Arts Center. “We felt this was an appropriate and constructive way to honor President Kennedy and his family and be respectful to the sensitive nature of this painful chapter in our city’s history.”

Mr. Rose will utilize his familiar format by interviewing the guests at a simple, round oak table with a black backdrop on the Shannon and Ted Skokos Stage at the Winspear Opera House. The discussion will examine the family’s influence on politics, culture and history from Mr. and Ms. Kennedy’s unique perspective.

ViewPoint Bank, a 60-year old institution based in North Texas, has a long history of supporting local arts organizations, including the AT&T Performing Arts Center.
“We’re pleased to sponsor what is sure to be a fascinating event,” said ViewPoint Bank CEO Kevin Hanigan. “It’s an honor to be able to support this observance of such a significant episode in our country’s history.”
Charlie Rose Live will begin at 8:00 pm. Tickets go on sale next week at www.attpac.org. Ticket prices will range from $25 to $150.
