Loyalty & Leadership: The Dallas Police Department Cohosts the Annual AAPI Heritage Month Festival
In 2022, the AT&T Performing Arts Center launched its AAPI Heritage Month Festival, a family-friendly community festival in Sammons Park featuring performances, an artisan vendor market, food stalls, and the annual fan-favorite snack passport activity celebrating the Asian American Pacific Islander community in Dallas. Since then, the Dallas Police Department has been co-host and a tremendous community partner.
In its fourth year, DPD Chief Daniel Comeaux and the public affairs team welcomed guests with one message: safety.
This is an amazing event that I was involved with since my start as Chief for the Dallas Police Department in 2025, said Chief Comeaux. We’re here because we want the community to know that DPD wants to hear from them about keeping their city safe, here in the Dallas Arts District, and in the communities where they live, work, and play. Let us know how we can help, and together we can keep everyone safe in Dallas.

With many members of DPD’s public affairs team fluent in multiple languages, including Mandarin, Thai, Lao, Vietnamese, and Korean, AAPI Heritage Month Festival has become a community beacon for cultural authenticity and exchange for residents and visitors.
AAPI Heritage Month Festival is part of the Center’s annual, free Festival Series.
