DALLAS ZOO INTRODUCES TWO CHEETAH CUBS

…and One of Them Has a Very Familiar Name.

The Dallas Zoo today introduced two male cheetah cubs, Kamau and… Winspear. The eight-week-old feline brothers were born July 8.

According to the zoo, an anonymous donor made a generous gift to name one of the cheetahs for Ellen and Don Winspear. Mr. Winspear is a director on the AT&T Performing Arts Center Board, and the son of the namesakes of the Margot and Bill Winspear Opera House.

Winspear and Kamau will join the zoo’s Animal Adventures outreach program to help teach the public about their highly endangered species.
