Mark your calendars for an event like no other as jazz meets classical music in a captivating performance.  Presenting “The Jazz Goes Classical Experience” featuring the sought-after vocals of Erika Nicole Johnson, accompanied by the brilliant Tyler Bullock on piano. Both coming off their fifth appearance at Carnegie Hall in December 2024, Erika and Tyler are a dynamic duo with a unique sound.  This performance is proudly sponsored by the Bradley-Johnson Foundation and Terry Costa.

Erika Nicole Johnson is a classical-contemporary vocalist from Dallas, Texas.  She received her graduate degree in Classical Voice from the Manhattan School of Music under the tutelage of Sydney Outlaw.  She has extensive performance experience with the Janiec Opera Company and a featured soloist at featured events including The Black Academy of Arts and Letters’ Riverside Jazz Festival, The HighArt Foundation’s “A Taste of Jazz“, New York City UNCF Annual Gala Awards Ceremony, and Carnegie Hall’s “A Night of Inspiration.”  Johnson is also a proud graduate of Florida A&M University.  She started her operatic journey at the Booker T. Washington School for the Performing and Visual Arts, and has since enjoyed numerous performances including international opportunities.

Tyler Bullock II, originally from Nashville, Tennessee, has worked with Dee Dee Bridgewater, The Roy Hargrove Big Band and many others since moving to New York City to study at the Juilliard School in 2021.  He intends to transmit positive energy through his music that he and his band members produce.  Similar to the way that Tyler’s favorite musicians do such as John Coltrane and Herbie Hancock.  He strives to use his own original voice as a composer and pianist.
