About Ronald K. Brown, Founder and Artistic Director
RONALD K. BROWN, founder and artistic director of EVIDENCE, A Dance Company, established the company in 1985. A Brooklyn native, he has created works for major companies including Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, Philadanco, Ballet Hispánico, and Malpaso Dance Company. His collaborations span a wide range of artists, from composers Jason Moran and Omotayo Wunmi Olaiya to writer Craig G. Harris and musician Meshell Ndegeocello. Brown’s accolades include the 2020 Jacob’s Pillow Dance Award, a Guggenheim Fellowship, a Doris Duke Artist Award, and a Tony-honored Astaire Award for Porgy and Bess. He is also Co-Artistic Director of the Restoration Dance Youth Ensemble and a 2024 Dance Teacher Magazine Awardee of Distinction alongside longtime collaborator Arcell Cabuag.
About Arcell Cabuag, Associate Artistic Director
ARCELL CABAUG, Associate Artistic Director of EVIDENCE and a first-generation Filipino-American, joined the company in 1997 after training at the Alvin Ailey American Dance Center. He has performed globally and collaborated with artists including Ronald K. Brown, Camille A. Brown, and PILOBOLUS, with credits ranging from Broadway’s The King and I to Law & Order: SVU. As a U.S. cultural ambassador, he toured Africa and Japan with EVIDENCE. Cabuag has helped set Brown’s work on major companies like Ailey, Philadanco, Ballet Hispánico, and Malpaso Dance Company. A dedicated educator and advocate, he has taught at NYU, The Ailey School, LIU Brooklyn, and universities nationwide. He is the newly appointed Director of Education at the Billie Holiday Theatre’s Youth Arts Academy. Honors include a New York Dance and Performance “Bessie” Award, an Abundance Dance Award, and a 2024 Dance Teacher Magazine Award of Distinction with Ronald K. Brown.
Charles Santos has served as the Executive Director and Artistic Director of TITAS/DANCE UNBOUND since 2001. In his role, Charles oversees all aspects of TITAS including curation, programming, contract negotiation, and financial management. His skilled artistic vision has brought brilliant international artists to Dallas, accompanied by extensive community engagement to our community. Under his guidance, Santos has established TITAS and the City of Dallas as significant entity on the international cultural landscape. Prior to TITAS, he founded the Austin Festival of Dance and served as the Managing Director/Development Director for Eos Orchestra, Producer for Dancers Responding to AIDS-BC/EFA, and Managing Director/Producer of the Lower Manhattan Cultural Council.
