Join TITAS/DANCE UNBOUND’s Executive Director, Charles Santos, before the show on Saturday, November 23 at 7:00 pm at the Winspear Opera House Lobby and on Facebook Live, with Founder, Artistic Director and Choreographer of Mark Morris Dance, Mark Morris. Charles and Mark will discuss the company, the inspiration behind ‘The Look of Love,’ and explore Morris’ choreographic journey.

TITAS/DANCE UNBOUND is a dance-only presenter and a catalyst for cultural collaborations. Our Santos Salon series is designed to bring our arts community together and create meaningful conversations. Artists need to come together, support each other, and have these conversations so we can ensure that all voices are heard, now and in the future.

About Mark Morris, Artistic Director and Choreographer
Mark Morris has been praised as “the most successful and influential choreographer alive, and indisputably the most musical.” (New York Times). In addition to creating over 150 works for the Mark Morris Dance Group, he conducts orchestras, directs opera, and choreographs for ballet companies worldwide. Morris’ work is acclaimed for its ingenuity, musicality, wit, and humanity. Named a Fellow of the MacArthur Foundation in 1991, he has received eleven honorary doctorates to date, and a multitude of awards, including the Samuel H. Scripps/American Dance Festival Award for Lifetime Achievement, the Leonard Bernstein Lifetime Achievement Award for the Elevation of Music in Society, the Benjamin Franklin Laureate Prize for Creativity, the Cal Performances Award of Distinction in the Performing Arts, the Orchestra of St. Luke’s Gift of Music Award, and the 2016 Doris Duke Artist Award. In 2015, Morris was inducted into the National Museum of Dance in Saratoga Springs, New York. Morris’ memoir, Out Loud, co-written with Wesley Stace, was published in paperback by Penguin Press in October 2021.

Charles Santos has served as the Executive Director and Artistic Director of TITAS/DANCE UNBOUND since 2001. In his role, Charles oversees all aspects of TITAS including curation, programming, contract negotiation, and financial management. His skilled artistic vision has brought brilliant international artists to Dallas, accompanied by extensive community engagement to our community. Under his guidance, Santos has established TITAS and the City of Dallas as significant entity on the international cultural landscape. Prior to TITAS, he founded the Austin Festival of Dance and served as the Managing Director/Development Director for Eos Orchestra, Producer for Dancers Responding to AIDS-BC/EFA, and Managing Director/Producer of the Lower Manhattan Cultural Council.
