Limited Time Early Bird Offer: 3-experience bundles available now at a special price of $60 inclusive of all fees – 20% off the regular single experience price.

The darkness surrounds you. You are completely alone, together, as a strange new world unfolds around you. Welcome to DARKFIELD.

DARKFIELD is not suitable for those under the age of 13. Individuals aged 13 – 15 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

SÉANCE

SÉANCE transforms the interior of a shipping container into a Victorian parlor room. Over 20 minutes it explores the psychology of a group of people being encouraged to challenge what they believe in and asks that they believe not only in what seems to be happening inside the container, but also in what might be conjured up into the room with them…

FLIGHT

FLIGHT takes place inside a 40ft shipping container with an interior that exactly resembles the economy cabin of a plane. Over 20 minutes, FLIGHT transports audience members into two parallel worlds: two realities offering two possible outcomes to their journey.

COMA

COMA transforms the interior of a shipping container into a clinical facility and invites audiences to slip into a collective dream…

Imagine the moment of waking is actually when your dream begins. How can we save you from the unspeakable things that lurk in the dark recesses of your mind? Please find a bunk and headphones. Lie down.

What is DARKFIELD?

Strange worlds unfold in 360-degree audio — and complete darkness.

DARKFIELD situates each audience member at the centre of intense, evolving narratives using 360 degree binaural sound, striking set design, pitch darkness and other sensory effects. The design of the experiences are rich, innovative and detailed – strange worlds that unfold and steal you away from reality.

Step inside DARKFIELD fan-favorites, SÉANCE, FLIGHT and COMA, three uniquely captivating experiences that unfold inside custom-built shipping containers at the AT&T Performing Arts Center this spring.

DARKFIELD utilize their signature 360-degree audio along with sensory effects and hyper-realistic sets to place you in the middle of intense narratives that will leave you questioning reality.

DARKFIELD Event Information

DARKFIELD is a collection of multi-sensory audio experiences that challenge the senses, exploring the depths of human psychology and perception.

Each DARKFIELD experience takes place inside a custom-built shipping container and uses binaural audio, sensory deprivation and sensory effects to place the audience at the centre of a narrative completely at odds with the space it occupies.

Run times vary depending on the container you choose:

  • SÉANCE: allow 20 minutes, run time approx 16 minutes
  • FLIGHT: allow 20 minutes, run time approx 16 minutes
  • COMA: allow 25 minutes, run time approx 22 minutes

Please note that due to the unique nature of the experience, there is strictly no late seating. Latecomers will not be admitted once doors close.

If you plan to book multiple shows, please allow 10 minutes minimum between the end of one show and the start of the next.

Photos and videos are encouraged while entering the experiences. Devices will need to be switched off before the show begins.

For SÉANCE, bags and jackets may be placed under seats.

For FLIGHT, bags and jackets may be placed in overhead luggage compartments or under the seats in front of you.

For COMA, bags and jackets may be placed in the bunk bed with you.

DARKFIELD is not suitable for those who are under the age of 13. Individuals aged 13 – 15 must be accompanied by a responsible guardian.

A responsible guardian can be a parent, family friend, teacher, older sibling, etc., who is over the age of 18 and is able to be mindful of the safety and wellbeing of the younger patron they are bringing with them.

The performance has dark themes, can be confronting or scary for some patrons, and is set in complete darkness. For health and safety reasons we aren’t able to permit children, no matter how brave they are.

We like to say it is “intense” and “unsettling” – some patrons find it scary depending on their fears and anxieties, but others just enjoy the nature of the experience.

We kindly ask that patrons do not leave during the performance, as it is unsafe to move in the dark and can disrupt the performance for others. In the case of an emergency, we will safely guide patrons to the exit.

Please note that due to the unique nature of the experience, there is strictly no late seating. Latecomers will not be admitted once doors close.

If you miss your check-in time, you should speak to a staff member when you arrive for assistance, and if possible, we will try to accommodate you if there is availability in a later show* or else sadly, you will lose your ticket.

*Subject to availability at show start time and at the discretion of the staff member. Patrons who miss their session are not eligible for a refund or exchange.

It is possible to purchase tickets on-site. However, we highly recommend getting your tickets in advance as tickets are limited.

No. Tickets purchased in advance are delivered digitally. Upon completing your order, you will receive your e-ticket QR codes that you can show to our team on the door.

Bundle buyers, you will receive an email confirmation at time of purchase. Please allow 24 hours for your e-ticket QR codes to be delivered. There will be 3 QR codes, one for each of your experiences.

We recommend leaving at least 10 minutes between the end of one session time and the start of another. You may want extra time to be able to process the experience before jumping into the next.

There is a bar and restroom on site for your comfort between sessions.

We can’t reveal the secrets of the show!

Health & Safety Warnings

You will experience a jolting chair movement in SÉANCE and FLIGHT. This experience may not be suitable for expectant mothers.

While there is no strobe effect deployed, there is a short burst of flashing lights in FLIGHT that is similar to lightning.

Performances take place inside an air conditioned, closed 40ft shipping container – these experiences may not be suitable for you depending on your level of claustrophobia. While we do not lock the doors, once the show begins, we require guests to remain in their seats. This experience may also not be suitable for Guests with a history of heart conditions. Due to the nature of the experience, guests enter at their own risk.

During SÉANCE and FLIGHT there are sudden, unexpected seat movements which may cause pain or discomfort for some back conditions.

SÉANCE – one sudden jolt later in the experience which can feel impactful in the darkness.

FLIGHT – some jolting back and forth throughout which is not extreme but can feel impactful in the darkness.

All performances have dark themes that may be confronting or triggering – if you would like more specific info, please ask the team at the container or contact boxoffice@attpac.org with your concerns.

The levels are regularly checked but the experience can be quite loud in parts and may not be suitable if you are sensitive to loud noise. We are unable to adjust individual headsets.

The headphones are over the ear, so you can choose to bring ear plugs if you are sensitive to loud noise.

There is airconditioning inside the containers – on extremely hot days, it may not be super cool.

Accessibility / Sensory

We strive to make our shows as accessible as possible. Below you can find general information about the accessibility of DARKFIELD experiences.

Be aware, there are major spoilers within! If you have specific questions regarding the sensory aspects of the experience, we are happy to answer them! Please feel free to contact boxoffice@attpac.org.

Accessibility Packs including full advisory, accessibility, and sensory information for SÉANCE, FLIGHT, and COMA are available by emailing access@attpac.org.

Audience Access Packs are presentations in the form of PDF documents that provide accessibility information for our shows. Each show has its own Access Pack with information unique to the show’s content and the specific container. Inside, you will find details about what to expect when you arrive, exact measurements of the entrance, seats, doors, and more.

There is a ramp available leading up to each of the experiences for canes, walkers, or alternative manual mobility devices.

SÉANCE and FLIGHT – We can make room for a wheelchair to enter the experience and require advanced notice to make this accommodation. Please contact us at access@attpac.org to make this request.

COMA – There is space for a wheelchair. Patrons may choose to transfer into a bed. Please contact us at access@attpac.org for more information.

The experience uses over the ear headphones, and loud audio at times, which may be uncomfortable for patrons with hearing aids. For more information contact us at access@attpac.org.

The large majority of this experience relies on audio, and it specifically relies on binaural sound, which means that different audio feeds from the left to right ear. Guests with limited hearing, or no hearing, will not be able to fully experience DARKFIELD. For more information or for special requests contact us at access@attpac.org.

Service dogs have been allowed in our containers before based on the discretion of their owners. The animal will need to be comfortable sitting in the dark for 20-30 minutes with occurrences of loud subwoofers and vibrations happening at random; for this reason, we do not recommend bringing a service dog into SÉANCE or FLIGHT due to the sudden floor and chair movements experienced during the production. We recommend your dog to wear ear protection if you have it for them.

We can provide visually impaired audience members with brief visual descriptions of the containers’ insides before the experience goes completely dark. To utilize this offer, please contact access@attpac.org 48 hours in advance to arrange this option.

The chairs and beds on each container may not be suitable for all sizes. Please email access@attpac.org to receive an access pack (pdf) to determine if the show is suitable for you.

We can offer an additional free standing chair in both SÉANCE and COMA, please contact access@attpac.org for more information and to arrange this option.
